ABOUT US

Starting out in 2010 in our home kitchen with only 1 machine that we had in storage, our cotton candy business was born. Selling at local flea markets, with only 2 colours of cotton candy, we soon realised that we needed to create something new, fresh and exciting with a traditional product that remained unchanged, yet popular for over 100 years.

We quickly set to work by creating South Africa’s first flavour infused cotton candy packaged in a reusable, tamper evident tub, instead of the usual plastic bag associated with cotton candy.

We saw this approach igniting the interest of cotton candy lovers, young and old alike and within 2 years, we were offering 6 different colours and flavours to our customers. Our product is wholly South African and most importantly the flavours were developed inhouse by our flavour experts. Many other cotton candy companies have asked us in the past to supply them with flavour, as the only alternative is to import flavours from the USA. Our product became so loved that this appreciation for what we offered inspired us to develop more new flavours, as well as new packaging, taking our product to the next level of perfection.

By 2014 we had attracted interest from large retailers so impressed with our flavours and quality, that they wished to bring our product to their customers, leading to listings with several blue chip companies.

Today, Candy Floss Company is the largest manufacturer of gourmet cotton candy in South Africa, supplying over five hundred retailers and hundreds of events, as well as online customers. We currently boast 25 mouth watering flavours in 8 different colours, with exciting new flavours and colours to suit all tastes being developed and added to our range on an ongoing basis.
